Ember’s Lifestyle Newborn Portraits

Haley and Thomas had a quick and surprising home birth. They had always planned a home birth, but did not imagine it would happen so suddenly that their midwife would nearly miss the entire event. Little Miss Ember was so eager to arrive! A home newborn session was also something that was on their mind as they wanted to be able to stay in during their postpartum period as much as possible. This family opted for a lifestyle newborn session and it turned out just lovely! A lifestyle newborn portrait session, or in-home newborn session, is a session in which I come to your home and photograph your new baby with you, your partner, and/or siblings, in your natural environment. These photos are great for families who do not want as many individual photos of their baby and prefer a more documentary style session. I will, of course, still pose families for the best, organic looking photos, and I may gently rearrange some furniture if necessary. If requested, I can also provide outfits, headbands, and wraps as well. I love the simple and natural feel these lifestyle newborn sessions provide. These sessions work well for families with homes that have a lot of natural light and large windows. Many parents love not having to leave their house during the postpartum period and this can be a great way to make sure a recovering mom stays rested and comfortable!
