Durango and Telluride’s Best Proposal and Engagement Photographer

My goal is to create a relaxed, pressure-free environment for you both. I want to capture you each at your most natural and spontaneous. I do everything I can to make the experience fun and carefree. I’ll guide you through how to plan the proposal so that it is a surprise for your partner, help you with location scouting, and can connect you with planners for special proposals such as styled picnics, ski trail signs, and more! The moment you and your special person decide to spend the rest of your lives together will be professionally and artistically captured so you can remember that wonderful day forever and ever!

Proposal photography is documenting the actual moment that you propose to your partner. It differs from an engagement session, which is a portrait session done after you have gotten engaged. Proposal photography captures REAL moments, not staged. Each proposal session includes photography for the organic moments of you proposing, as well as a mini-engagement session immediately following.
This depends on how you decide to set up your session. There are two options:
1. I am hidden and/or posing a tourist taking photos of the scenery depending on if this makes sense for the location. Your partner will be totally unaware that I am there to photograph you both.
2. We set up the session with you and your partner together as a couple’s portrait session. During the session, I pose your partner so that there back is turned to you. I signal to you to get down on one knee and then instruct your partner to turn back around. I then document the proposal as it unfolds. This only works if your partner won’t be tipped off to the idea of doing a couple’s portrait session together!
I will guide you on time of day, location, and other photography related details. I can also help you make connections to venues, planners, and other vendors to help with the event. I do not do the entire proposal planning, i.e. transportation, food/drink, etc. If you are planning a ski resort proposal, I can connect you with the ski trail sign maker and resort planner for logistics. They usually provide a champagne toast, install the trail sign, and remove and ship it to you after the proposal, and will coordinate with me on timing and other details. We are booked separately. I can also recommend picnic options, floral arrangements, and more if you are looking for something extra special.

The day will culminate in a champagne toast, celebrating the journey you are about to embark upon as you begin writing your next chapter together as a soon to be married couple.
