Top 10 Blunders, Outtakes, and Unplanned Photos

As a photographer, my goal is to create a carefully curated gallery of portraits for you to choose from, aiming for images with intent in lighting, pose, expression, color, and texture. As we know though, kids and babies are wild cards! I’ve been photographing newborns, babies, and families in Durango, Colorado for nearly 12 years now and I’ve compiled some of my most favorite happy mistakes or outtakes here from just the last few months. If I dug into my archives from all 12 years, I’d have a gallery longer than I could fit on here! Some of the “outtakes” end up being my clients’ most favorite images so I always make sure to include some of these precious and unintentional photos in the gallery. You’ll see my goofy little boy in here too, making silly faces no matter how many times we told him to give us a good smile. It’s just not in his nature to be anything but silly and I love it! Capturing true personalities is so important and I think these photos just do that.
